Marina Del Ray-based
Six Degrees Games, which runs the ActionAllStars.com virtual world focused on six to 14 year olds, has raised $7M in an additional funding round. The round was led by Time Warner, and also included prior investors Clearstone Venture Partners and Prism VentureWorks. Six Degree Games is headed by Minard Hamilton. The new round brings the company's total raised to $14M.

Maverick Angels, the angel investment group headed by John Dilts, formally announced its expansion into Italy today, saying it has tied with
Intesa SanPaolo Bank to create a new angel investor network based in Milan. Financial details of the alliance with Intesa SanPaolo Bank--which Maverick Angels said is among the largest financial institutions in Europe--were not announced by the group. Maverick Angels founder Dilts said, in a statement, that the move would help create stronger ties between start-ups and angel and venture capital investors in Italy.

Buzzmedia, which operates Buzznet, Celebuzz, and other pop culture web sites, said today that it has hired Chris George, former Vice President of Integrated Marketing at MySpace, as its Senior Vice President of Integrated Marketing and Operations. Buzzmedia said that George will manage all apsects of its revenue and sales for Buzzmedia. George has also previously served at IGN Entertainment, and FCB.
